4 Cs and a bit of Sugar

Hello,
It was a  cold wet day here in Leeds today, hope the weather was better for you.
A BIG HELLO to Georgina, a lovely new follower, thank you for joining us.
I've been wanting to make this gift box for quite a while but couldn't find the time.
As Gracie started nursery this week i've got every morning now to play!!!

There are a few challenges this will fit into 4 of them starting with 'C' hence the title.
Cupcake Craft ~ Don't be Square, anything but a square card
A Spoonful of Sugar ~ 3D something
Crafty Creations ~ Make your own paper
Cute Card Thursday ~ Make your own
Charisma Cards ~ Girly with Flowers on but not just on your dp
Papertake Weekly ~ Do something new that you haven't done before
Paperplay Challenges  ~ Pretty Pastels

It started as a digital download template from My Time Made Easy  designed and owned by Lauren Meader. Check out her site they do more than just templates.
This box is from the Pretty Packaging and is called Card Catch All.
It's really easy to make and went together in no time at all.

I made a note book using my Bind it All, first project I have made and a first for using the template.
That is the Papertake challenge.
The lilac card is from The Paper Mill in York, white card from my stash. I stamped the background with   Magenta swirl K0537 from Whichcraftuk and lulu lavender ink by momento.
The sides and back are done in the same way and decorated with faux pearls, sparkling Swarovski crystals and a sakura stardust pen. The photo doesn't  really show  how sparkly it is!!
Flowers are from Wild Orchid Crafts

Sentiment stamps by Stampin' Up oval all and curvy verses sets from Victoria
There is also an add on template to make cards and envelopes to match and category cards, called Pretty Pieces cut file
I didn't decorate them just tied them together with ribbon from my stash.
Look out for more of these as they are really gorgeous and I have others to try watch this space.

Will be posting more from now on so hope you'll come a long for the ride.
thanks for stopping by

Thank you so much

I'm so thrilled to recieve 2 blog awards this weekend.
The first one is from  my friend the very lovely Diane.  Such a positive lady who inspires me, with her creations and
'to keep going when the going gets tough.'
Please drop in on her and share some love, and check out her lovely creations.

I'd like to pass this award on to all my followers and to say a
BIG THANK YOU
for taking the time to look at my work and leaving such lovely encouraging comments  MWAH  x

My 2nd award is from my friend lovely LISA JANE who also inspires me with her creations and makes me laugh. Lisa can turn  a bad day in to fun with her comments. Hop over and see her and share some love.

To accept  this award I have to tell you 10 things about myself.
I said to Lisa mine wouldn't be half as entertaining or as funny as hers (check them out) but here goes.

1 My first and most important love is for my family, they are my life and my reason for getting up in the morning.

2 Apart from loosing my parents which is hard for anyone but you kinda accept it if they have reached a good age, my most sad a devastating time was loosing our brother when he was 26 yrs to a brain tumour.
Being 11yrs older it was like loosing a child too. (Enough of the sad stuff.)

3 Up to starting my blog I would joke with my sister who is by Best Friend and would call myself
Billy Nomates. It's so wonderful to get to know so many lovely people. I'm in awe that I can speak to people on the other side of the world.

4 My favourite books are The Borrowers by Mary Norton. A family of little people who live under the floor boards. Have you ever wondered were all those missing things are?
I love anything by Catherine Cookson. That leads me to no 5.

5 If I could choose to live in another area in England it would be Tyneside in the north.
 My favourite dialect is geordie.

6 I'm a qualified cook and spent my time serving up lumpy mash, sago pudding, and custard with a skin on it, the things kids hated about school dinners. No really we did a good job, my dinners were nice if you could convice them.

7 I'm a Disney addict so my fav holiday is at Disney World Florida and have the photos to prove it. That's another project on the back burner numerous  scrapbook albums to put them in.
This is turning in to an epic!!!

8  By the time I finish it will be next weekend,
I'm a chocaholic and love belgium  choc sea shells.

9 I hate coffee in any shape or form and smell YUCK!!!

10 Finally if I haven't bored you to sleep, now is my favourite time of year. To see beautiful Magnolia trees and spring flowers just makes my day.

You wouldn't believe how long that took. Thank you Lisa for giving me the headache lol.
I'm going to be a real wimp now and ask if any of my followers  would like to take up the challenge, take the award ( your all amazing!!!) and tell us 10 things about yourself.
Please drop back and let me know so I can read yours.

Loads a hugs have a really special week,
Love Cherie       //*.*\\

Crazy 4 Challenges # 34

Here is the card I made for my daughter's 30th birthday today.
I was looking for inspiration, and saw the gorgeous cards on the Crazy 4 Challenges blog.
Their challenge is to copy one of the DT creations either layout, theme, colour or the whole card.
They are all gorgeous, I chose a card by Silke Kittmann so I could use  my new paper from Stampin' Up.

The base cardstock is from the neutrals pack,  dp is called bella bleu and ribbon all from SU
from Victoria
I embossed cream linen cardstock with the Happy Birthday embossing folder by Crafts-Too.
It's the same size as a Cuttlebug I just cut it shorter.
I cut the large scallop border after drawing round a small oval, didn't have a punch to do that.
Clear stamp set is by Magenta lovely for adding layered designs.
Pearl brads from Hobby House.
The flower is made with punched circles.
If you put them through the ribbler quite a few times it breaks the fibers and makes the paper more pliable.
I wraped the ribbon around my hand a couple of times and used the large brad to pin it.
Don't make a hole in the ribbon just bend the legs of the brad around it.

Thanks for stopping by,

Teddy Stampers # 9 Red and White

Good Morning, hope the sun is shining for you, and a BIG HELLO to a lovely new follower Vicky thank you for joining us.

We have another challenge for you at Teddy Stampers.
It's St Georges Day on the 23rd April here in the UK, so the theme is St George or red and white.
We'd love you to join in the fun.
Don't forget your creation must have a stamped or digi Teddy on it.
Our sponsor this week is the Cutting Cafe.

I'm also entering the Rosie D's challenge which is red and white

I chose to do a gate fold  for my DT card.  It's not quite an A6 just a bit shorter.
The gorgeous teddies inside are by Stampavie Penny Johnson 'Bubbly Bears'.
I thought I would have a change and coloured them with chalk, then sprayed it with  perfix colourless fixative for pastels.
The sentiment and heart stamps come from the Forever Friends 'going to the chapel' clear stamp set.
A little bit of stardust stickles for the bubbles and glaze on their noses.

I cut 4 1/8" off the length of A4 cardstock and scored it at 3 1/4" from both ends. The overlap allows the red to be seen through the trellis hearts. The scoring was made much easier with my new Martha Stewart scoring board, absolutely amazing, from  Joanna Sheen.  I did intend to get a score pal but heard this was good. The score lines are nice and narrow, just go a bit slower scoring.
The red card is from the papermill which I embossed with a Cuttlebug roses folder.
I used a rub on greeting and the word punch from Stampin' Up from Victoria.
Rose from Wild Orchid Crafts ribbon and charm from stash.

Ribbon Box

Hi,
I'd just like to say a big HELLO and WELCOME to two lovely new followers Sarah and Diane.
Thank you so much for joining us.
I had a brilliant time at a workshop on Saturday at Whichcraft uk.
Hop over to the web site and have a look at the
new "Classic Collection,"  cards that have the edge!!
scallop concertina cards and the new scallop shutter cards
all exclusive to them.

At the workshop we altered a ribbon box, it starts out as a flat pack and folds into this lovely box.
They are 65p each from their shop.

To save drying time Paula had already painted the boxes with emulsion paint.

We covered two sides with patterned paper and two sides plain.
Stamped the letters onto the patterned paper and mounted them on to the stamped squares.
I glazed mine with glossy accents later but things always seem to curl up when I use it, thats why they look a bit up and down.
I was having a really funny "senior moment" day and put my letters on upside down,
then when I went to buy another box to do later,
I made this silly comment "they're not the boxes we used they only have 3 holes in them". DA!!! the rest just needed punching out. LOL we had a good laugh though.
I'm sorry I didn't take notice of which stamps and papers we used.

Thanks for stopping by

Hi,
The challenge over at pile it on is to make a creation with a sentiment as the focal point ( no image )
and the other requirement is to enter at least one other challenge.

I'm also entering in the Lily of the Valley challenge which is to use blue and silver.

My niece asked me to make a wedding card. I did start out with the intension of making it contemporary
but it kind of evolved into vintage, but she likes it.
The base card stock is by stamping up from the neutrals assorted pack from Victoria
I used an embossing folder by sizzix it has 3 lovely borders in it too, on stardust card.
The patterned paper is from my stash which I punched with 2 different  Martha Stewart heart punches.
Check out the do crafts online shop I got the heart sentiment punch for 99p it's by Anitas, along with others, a bargin!!!! I stamped with versafine sepia.
Blue aster flowers are from Wild Orchid Crafts  white one from stash.
Nestys lables 4 for tag and sentiment mount

Teddy Stampers Challenge # Spring

What's more beautiful than a spring day, bright yellow daffodils bathed in sunshine, that was my inspiration for my DT card.
So the  new challenge for you today over at Teddy Stampers, is a creation with spring in mind.
Just a reminder you must have a stamped or digi TEDDY BEAR image on your creation.
My fellow DT members have some gorgeous inspiration for you.

I'm entering my card into the Just Cute Bears challenge too.
It was the turn of the lovely Annie to choose the challenge, which is a colour combo of yellow and green gorgeous spring colours.

I love making easel cards, but they are a bit difficult to photograph. the base is always in the shadow and so the colour comes out darker. If anyone has any tips i'd be very greatful.
My image is Popcorn Bear Someone Special stamp set by Crafter's Companion.
I'ts a lovely large image but as you can see at the top you can use a portion of it.

As promised the copic and Promarker colours are:
bear: E30 31 33 34 and E08 on his foot
daffodils: Y11 15 YR23
greens: G14 promarker pear green
duck: Y11 promarker honeycomb
shading around bear: C1 + blender
background: I used chalk.

The DT papers are by Brenda Walton from my stash
Martha Stewart picket fence punch
I tried in vain to get paper daffodils, had to settle for these silk ones. There were lots of Easter goodies reduced at Hobbycraft in store last Saturday. I got 2 Easter punches by Martha Stewart for £8.99 each!!!
I put pearl brads in the center of the flowers, from  the Hobby House
and a punch by McGill for the leaves.
 ribbon Hobbycraft
sentiment by Stamping Up

Thanks for stopping by have a great weekend.
