Hero Arts friendship

Good morning I hope you are all well and stayed safe through  the snow and ice.
The bad weather didn't stop the UPS man whoo hoo!!!
he brought me some lovely goodies from Stampin Up, can't wait to get started.
My new policy is, instead of using a stamp set just to make one card and then putting it away,
i'ts to make 6 cards with the same stamps and colours but for different themes.
That way being more creative with the stamps and using up the cardstock, well that's the theory.

Staying with the theme of clean and simple this card is just a bit smaller than a DL, it opens on the side.
I made it in two pieces by adding  3/4" extra on the front,  scoring it and sticking it  on to the back of the white bottom card.
Back is 71/8" x 4"
Yellow front is 8"x4" scored at one end 3/4"
White top layer 71/8" before I die cut it.
You might have to adjust this depending on how you wish to shape the end.
This stamp set comes with Framelits I die cut them to have a play to decide on the layout but then thought they gave more dimension than just stamping straight onto the card. I love this stamp set and can see me using it often.

Stamps. Sizzix Hero Arts 65776
Hero Arts Poly Clear,  Live Life
Ink.        Versafine toffee, spanish moss, onyx black

Ribbon    Dovecraft

clean and simple

Hello and Happy New Year.
My resolution is to blog more often and to loose the Christmas pounds..... and not the ones I will be spending on crafty stash.

A clean and simple card today sadly for our dear uncle's family who left us on Christmas eve.
God bless xx

The card blank is 8"x 4" from a goody bag from Craftwork Cards.
Stamps used 'Insignia' from Basicgrey and the sentiment is from
Stampendous clear set 'Sincere Sentiments' with Archival ink jet black
I added a couple of Swarovski crystals, for the splash of colour.

This is a little out of my comfort zone not my usual make but I do like it,
and very quick to do once I had the design sorted.

The challenge over at Less is More  is ~ black and white and a splash of colour
Pile it on challenge ~ as above

LOTV Mary and Joseph

Hi crafty friends, I hope you're Christmas preparations are going well.
Just doing some late night blogging after some very late night Christmas shopping.

I made this card for two special people who love the rustic charm look to Christmas,
so I decided to keep it natural and shade the sweet image with a burnt umber polychromos pencil which I blended with a paper stump and Sansodor, I think it's worked?

The base card is 51/2" sq crumb cake and real red  matts from SU
Pattern paper is from the Molly Bloom Christmas Carnival mag.
Stamps used are Little Gabriel and Mary and Joseph from LOTV
and the sentiment stamp is part of the Contempo Christmas set from SU.
The background was embossed with a Sizzix holly plate.
Punches used are EK scallop border and Friskas corner.
I hand stitched after using the SU piercing tool and guide,
then added just a tiny touch of glitter with a Sukura star dust pen.

Challenges to have fun with
LOTV thursday challenge ~ something new....
I hope Lili's little faries won't mind if I share this one as a new technique.

Quilted Christmas Ornament

Hello crafty friends, I have something different to share with you today.
I know these gorgeous decorations have been around for a while but i've only just got to grips with the technique and now i'm loving it. There are lots of good demos on you tube.

I bought the material from the new Hobby Craft store that opened last week near me....oh my goodness....it's like having a sweet shop on your street.
It's a pack of 6 different patterns and I used the reverse for the red star. This is a 7cm foam ball  and the material was die cut with the next to the largest classic square nestabilities or 3 inch squares. You also need approx 160 dress making pins, and a thimble.
I tried to use the sequin pins but they are too short and the head pulled through the material.
I made the satin ribbon bow by cutting 4 3/4 inch strips and winding into a figure eight, and stacking them on top of each other, similar to a gift bow. I used a pearl head pin and hot glue to pin it to the ball.
It doesn't really show it but the braid is quite sparkly, from a Papermania ribbon pack.

Another one using a different pattern. I have material left for maybe 2 more.
My brain is racing now thinking of more designs, I think it could get addictive.

Hope you're enjoying your day, thanks for stopping by,

Hugs Cherie x

More Molly Blooms

Back again so soon I can't believe it I hear you say!!

Some more samples using Molly Blooms stamps most of them are available from Whichcraftuk.
The new collection have been so popular sad to say, some are out of stock at the moment, but worth a look any way, as there are some from 2011 collection and a  10% discount if you buy 3 or more.

In the top image Paula's Little Crackers

Gift box using one and a half little crackers, I cut a piece of card for the base and for a lid.
Stamps used
Santa's sleigh ride,
fire place frosty snowman and in the background baker boy George

I turned it to make a tent card to fit the sentiment.
Stamps used
Molly skating
Gingerbread Garland
sentiment from Woodware bauble set

Cute card using Vintage Step card pack
stamps used
Ride-a-Reindeer George
Fire place frosty 2011 collection
star and jingle bells from the christmas carnival magazine

Another option using the Vintage Step
stamp is Blah Blah Blah George

stamps used
Santa's Sleigh Ride
Roxy Reindeer

I want to say a huge thank you to my sister who's also my best friend for all the help she gave me with these samples, especially for working out the machanics of this card.
We're not too sure of the correct name, spinner, window, secret message wheel card.
Any way it tuned out brilliant after a few goes.
There are 4 images that appear in the window. The only thing I would change is using a brad, because the legs have flat sides it doesn't spin as smoothly as it should.
Will work on it and do a tutorial if it works better, unless any of you clever crafters no of a tute all ready.

A few challenges to join in the fun:
ABC Christmas ~ wrapping
Winter Wonderland ~ food
Papertake Weekly ~ ribbons and pearls
Creative Card Crew ~ anything goes

Well if you're still with me thanks for stopping by and  have a fun weekend.
